A Lobster vs. A Pile of Sharks

Lobster & Sharks

Here’s a nice entry for Wildlife Wednesday.

A brave Lobster skillfully navigates a pile of Whitetip Reef Sharks on a ledge of a reef. This occured on our first day of diving the Revillagigedo Archipelago (Socorro Islands). Most scuba divers make the journey to the group of islands to see large animals like Sharks & Manta Rays. So, I was extremely focused on shooting the sharks that I initially missed the Lobsters approach.

I didn’t realize how cool the moment was until I reviewed my footage at the end of the day. If only I noticed the Lobster sooner and shot the scene wider. Oh well, next time!

The Revillagigedo Archipelago is located about 300 miles southwest of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
