About
ScubaHankNYC began as a way to share dives with friends. It has since grown into an ongoing documentary record of the ocean’s diversity — filmed and photographed across more than twenty destinations worldwide. Every post documents a real encounter: the conditions, the behavior, the story behind the shot.
I’ve worked in the water from Tofo Beach, Mozambique and Siladen Island, Indonesia to Dumaguete, Philippines, Laamu Atoll, Maldives, and St. Vincent — covering everything from millimeter-scale macro life on the sand to open-water encounters with whale sharks and humpback whales. I’m a Big Apple Divers member, a member of the New York Underwater Photographic Society, and a Google Maps Level 5 Local Guide — meaning my destination reviews extend well beyond this site.
If you’re looking for my camera setup, a dive trip checklist, or NYC-area dive shops, those are all a click away. For footage or image licensing, visit the licensing page.
