Photos of me during scuba dives are rare, largely because most divers don’t carry cameras. During a week in St. Eustatius, my dive buddy Dominique managed to snap a few shots of me in action—thanks, Dominique, for the images!

Good morning Hank, Thanks for looking at my blog and I am really enjoying your photography. Great shots. Statia is one of my favorite dive destinations. I love searching through the old wreak sites and the history there is overwhelming. Have you been to Saba yet?
I dived off the coast of Saba several years ago on a liveaboard trip aboard the Caribbean Explorer II. Our itinerary included a half-day dive in St. Martin, followed by 3.5 days in Saba, and finished with a day of diving in St. Kitts.
In my opinion, the marine life in the area is relatively consistent due to the islands’ (Statia/Saba) proximity. However, Statia stands out for its wreck diving opportunities.
When I return to Saba, I’d likely choose a land-based operator. They offer smaller boats and have access to more mooring Buoys, providing greater flexibility. While the liveaboard had some advantages in terms of convenience. Some dives sites buoys couldn’t support a boat of that size.
