Titan Triggerfish - Scuba Hank NYC
Titan Triggerfish, Red Sea, Egypt

Generally, I stay away from Titan Triggerfish. They actually scare me more than sharks. During nesting season, I have seen them vigorously attack scuba divers that accidentally venture near their nest.

Since we were in the off season, I was comfortable getting close to this Triggerfish while it was feeding on coral. I immediately noticed that a piece of coral was stuck to its fin. The fish didn’t seem to be bothered as it continued to feed.

Titan Triggerfish live on coral reefs and their diet consists of coral, gastropods, crustaceans, faraminiferans, tunicares, tube worms and sea urchins.

I captured this video in the Red Sea.
