Is this octopus green, or is it appearing to take on the colouring of its surroundings because of the light? Great video!
I adjusted the white balance of the clip in post using the sand as a reference, ensuring consistent colors throughout. The octopus’s color remains constant in the footage, and I didn’t apply any masking. It seems the octopus may have changed its color naturally to blend into its surroundings – (sea grass), while hunting, before eventually returning to its den.
Cool! With water coloring, the color of nearby objects and lack of light it makes for challenging conditions.
