This month, I presented a short film titled “Light, Shadow and Sea” at the New York Underwater Photographic Society meeting. Focusing on black and white, the film explores underwater contrast and texture, capturing diverse marine environments and emphasizing mood over color. It serves as an exercise in illuminating the subtleties of underwater life.

Today is National Find A Rainbow Day. Although I didn’t find a rainbow today, I recalled discovering one during a St. Lawrence River Dive trip last year. This memorable experience occurred while diving between Ontario, Canada, and New York, United States.

Elephants Have Taken Over NYC
One hundred life-size elephants are featured in the Meatpacking District until October 2024 for “The Great Migration,” a global campaign aimed at elevating Indigenous voices and encouraging harmony between humans and animals. The images were captured on Saturday night, with sky enhancements done using Luminar Neo.
