Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Cinco de Mayo is an annual celebration held on May 5. The date is observed to commemorate the Mexican Army’s victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla, on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza during the Franco-Mexican War. While it is a relatively minor holiday in Mexico, in the United States, Cinco de Mayo has evolved into a commemoration of Mexican culture and heritage.

Mexico is one of my favorite countries to visit. I’ve visited numerous times and I enjoy both the Caribbean and Pacific sides. Each region offers unique experiences and tastes.

One of my favorite appetizers is Guacamole and chips. The video below demonstrates how you can easily whip up a delicious batch in under 3 minutes.

Wishing a colorful, fun, and festive

Cinco de Mayo

to all my amigos!
