Logistics & Nearby Stay
See Creatures is located inside the Hotel Tesoro Los Cabos, a large property with around 225 rooms and suites overlooking Marina Cabo San Lucas — a convenient base if you’re diving the region or planning to board one of the Nautilus liveaboards. The shop’s central location makes it easy to reach regardless of where you’re staying, and stepping outside puts you immediately in the heart of the marina, surrounded by restaurants and bars.
The dive shop is spacious and well set up to handle both small and large groups, which isn’t always a given at a busy Cabo San Lucas dive shop. The gear shop carries and rents essentials — wetsuits, regulators, dive computers, and more — so traveling light is a genuine option here. If you’re heading out on a Nautilus liveaboard, See Creatures offers a complimentary checkout dive before your departure — a smart way to confirm your gear is dialed in before you’re offshore.

Dive Operation & Boat Setup
See Creatures runs an efficient operation. Divers gather at the shop for a morning or afternoon briefing before heading to the boat — just a short walk to Marina Cabo San Lucas, making the whole process refreshingly straightforward. Briefings were clear and to the point, covering the site and any conditions to expect.
Not all trips depart on the same schedule. The Gordo Banks and Cabo Pulmo dives require an earlier departure than the local marine park trips — confirm your departure time when you book, as the shop may be closed by the time you think to check. Cabo Pulmo in particular adds a one-hour van transfer to reach the dive boat, but See Creatures handles all the logistics, so there’s nothing to coordinate on your end beyond showing up on time. The guides were professional and knowledgeable throughout, making the varied itinerary feel seamless.

Diving & Marine Life
Across five dives, we explored three distinct areas: the Cabo San Lucas Marine Park and the Corridor, Gordo Banks, and Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park. That range is one of the biggest advantages of diving out of Cabo, and See Creatures offers access to all of it.
Among the most memorable sightings were a banded guitarfish moving along the reef and a Pacific seahorse holding fast to the rocks — exactly the kind of encounters that reward divers who take their time and pay close attention. A hammerhead also made an appearance at Gordo Banks, though it stayed too far off to be captured effectively on camera. Schools of fish and jellyfish were a steady presence throughout the trip.
Visibility at Gordo Banks and Cabo Pulmo was limited during this April visit, which is fairly typical for spring in the Sea of Cortez. The reduced visibility brought with it a dense concentration of plankton and jellyfish in the water column — and we made the most of it, capturing plenty of those moments on camera. Before booking the longer runs, it is worth checking with See Creatures for the latest visibility conditions, particularly if underwater photography or cinematography is a main priority.
