    The lion, revered across cultures as a symbol of strength and authority, captivates with its regal presence. Clad in a golden mane, its muscular form and amber eyes exude nobility. Its powerful roar, echoing over the savannah, proclaims territorial dominance and unites the pride, a timeless emblem of majesty.

    I captured these two sunset photos near Umkumbe Safari Lodge Riverside in South Africa. I can’t decide which one I like better, as they only differ slightly in exposure.

  • Wildlife Wednesday: Leopard Feeding

    During a remarkable safari, the group observed a leopard feeding on a warthog, highlighting nature’s beauty and its circle of life. Although they missed the chase, they found the leopard enjoying its meal in tall grass. A video documenting this scene is available, but viewer discretion is advised due to its content.

    We traveled from Umkumbe Safari Lodge to nThambo Tree Camp in Kruger National Park, enhancing our chances of seeing the “Big 5” wildlife. nThambo’s intimate tree houses provide a unique perspective on nature. The experience combines wildlife encounters with relaxation, creating unforgettable memories before heading to Durban for the Sardine Run.

    We embarked on a scuba diving trip to witness the sardine run in South Africa, preceded by a week-long safari. Staying at Umkumbe Safari Lodge, we encountered the “Big 5” and experienced unforgettable moments, particularly with a pride of lions. This adventure showcased Africa’s incredible wildlife while creating lasting memories.
