Here are a few fun facts about Seahorses
- Male seahorse carries the eggs in his pouch until they hatch, then releases fully formed, miniature seahorses into the water
- Female seahorses deposit up to 1,500 eggs in the male’s pouch
- Seahorses are monogamous and mate for life
- Seahorses are not very good swimmers, they need to anchor themselves to seaweed, coral or anything else that will anchor the seahorse in place
- Mainly found in shallow and temperate saltwater throughout the world

Wonderful images, as always. I have always loved seahorses and an old boyfriend bought me a beautiful gold plated seahorse pendant from Denmark. Once I realized it was a dead seahorse under the gold, I couldn’t wear it…
Gift giving is tough because sometimes you don’t realize ethical factors. I guess it was the initial thought that counted.
The thought did count but we weren’t well matched.
